![]() Peanut Butter Cup Concrete from CJ’s Italian Ice and Custard ![]() For those who can eat gluten, they have brownie sundaes, cannoli, ice cream nachos, and a variety of glutenous toppings., For us with the allergy, they still have plenty of options including gelato, frozen bananas, floats and milkshakes. With CJ’s? That wasn’t an issue, and each bite was scrumptious. Sometimes when they blend these custard treats the topping becomes concentrated in one part of the cup. My favorite part? Every bite of the Concrete treat had peanut butter cups in it. Every bite of this treat was worth the caloric/sugar intake. In fact, it filled my stomach with happy lactose and carbohydrates. This delicious concoction is called Concrete, and amidst its name, it did not feel like concrete in my stomach. I went big and then went home…full and feeling like Violet Beauregard minus the blue skin color and juice.įour Places this time: Rika Arepa Express, Fukuburger (see separate review), Good Greek Grub and CJ’s Italian Ice and CustardĬJ’s Custard: I got a mix of their vanilla and chocolate custard with peanut butter cups. I could have eaten several more servings of the pork, but one serving was plenty and the price was worth the quality of the food. The pork was salty and rich without being overwhelmingly heavy, and the rice was perfectly cooked, not soggy, and an excellent vessel for the pork. At first I was concerned that the pork would be too greasy and that the rice would just mop up that grease and be soggy. I loved how simple the dish was: Pork Sisig and White Rice. The pork sisig rice bowl was simple yet delicious. I’ve had pork belly several times, but the pork sisig from White Rabbit showed me a new direction for pork, and I would follow that direction every day if my arteries could take it. ![]() Next, we went to White Rabbit Truck serving Filipino food and pork belly goodness. My husband ate the bun and he was silent which is a very good sign.Ĭhorizo, Ground Beef, Bacon, Serrano Peppers, and Deliciousness Sweet from the syrup and bacon, salty from the bacon and chorizo, a nice kick from the peppers, the ground beef added extra tenderness, and the tortilla chips added the extra crunch. Everything about it made my tastebuds dance. At Luncha Libre I got one of their burgers which had a patty made from ground beef and chorizo, topped with serrano peppers, bacon and served with maple syrup and freshly made tortilla chips. First, both of these trucks were more than knowledgeable about a gluten allergy, and neither made me feel like my allergy was a burden on them. The first day, we went to Luncha Libre (Phoenix, AZ) and White Rabbit Truck (Los Angeles, CA). Everyone was very helpful, informative and accommodating which was a welcomed surprised. We had to go twice, because there was no possible way I could eat all of that food in one day. After less than 24 hours, I had a list of where I could go to eat and what I could fit in on each day. However, my inner foodie was calling when I saw this year’s lineup, and I took to social media (Facebook and Twitter) to see where and what I could eat. ![]() Restaurant Name: Las Vegas Foodie Fest, Location: Across from Luxor/Mandalay Bay on Las Vegas Boulevardįood: I went to the Las Vegas Foodie Fest a couple years ago when it was at the Silverton Casino, and after not being able to eat anything other than a couple of mediocre dishes I swore off the festival. Keeping it classy at the Las Vegas Foodie Fest ![]()
